The National Quantum Technology Programme (NQTP) approach to translating quantum research into commercialised quantum technologies is based around four university-based hubs. They act as an important engine for UK quantum ambitions, weaving the science of quantum technologies with ideas for their commercialisation and delivering a route to market.
Each hub has a university at the centre and focuses on a broad area of technology. They bring together experts from universities, national laboratories (including NPL), business development and industry partners. Through the NPL Quantum Programme, we ensure each hub has access to the measurement expertise and equipment it needs to support its industry partners to develop and validate quantum technologies.
