Jonathan joined NPL in November 2021 as a Scientist in the Quantum Electrical Metrology group. After graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2018 with an integrated Masters in chemistry and molecular physics, with a focus on semiconductor physics, Jonathan spent 3 years working in product development. Initially, Jonathan completed a KTP operating as an engineering physicist, before transitioning to the role of a firmware design engineer at a firm designing a range of laboratory equipment.
Since joining NPL, Jonathan has worked on a range of projects in topics that include characterisation of semiconductor devices at cryogenic temperatures, electrometer calibrations at ultralow currents and investigating sources of uncertainty in cryogenic current comparator measurements.
