Peter joined NPL in late 2020 as a senior electronics engineer in the Atomic Clocks and Sensors group. He supports projects within the group through the provision of electronics and software development, such as work on NPL’s European Space Agency projects.
Peter previously spent two years working at EDMI Europe as a Senior Integration-Development Framework Engineer, developing automated test systems for smart electric and gas SMETS2 meter products.
Prior to EDMI Peter had worked at FT Technologies since 2005, following a move to the UK from Australia. Initially working as an Embedded Software Engineer, and later Principal Embedded Software Engineer, Peter worked primarily developing embedded software for the company’s range acoustic resonance wind sensor products, but also developed test and calibration software to support in-house production activities, suppliers and customers, and occasional electronics hardware development support. Peter worked on the provision of virtual acoustic temperature measurements by anemometers and projects to increase the anemometer wind speed measurement range, accuracy and availability.
Peter is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and of Engineers Australia.
