Luke studied a four-year integrated master’s degree in physics at the University of Sheffield where he worked on the chiral statistics of quantum dots coupling to topological photonic crystal waveguides. Upon completion he joined NPL’s Quantum Photonics Team in 2020 where he began working on calibration techniques for single-photon detectors. Recently, he began an on-the-job PhD in collaboration with the University of York.
Areas of interest
Luke’s current areas of interest are in the development of measurement techniques and metrology for single-photon technologies. He has specific expertise in single-photon detector metrology where he is currently working to expand NPL’s measurement capabilities.
