Lizzi Beecham is the Group Leader for Optical Frequency Metrology. She joined the group in 2024 from the NPL Project Management Office where she previously led portfolios of work within the Quantum programme and the Maritime Assured Autonomy Testbed programme before leading the scoping of core workstreams forming part of the next phase of the National Timing Centre programme.
Lizzi is an accredited Project Manager with a commercial background in Marketing, Product Development, Procurement, Manufacturing and Supply Chain. She moved to NPL from a career in Food Manufacturing where she managed factory investment, site build, continuous improvement, design to value and innovation projects. Lizzi achieved a Master’s Degree in Project Management in 2022, leading a case study on the influence of project leadership on project delivery. Her work explored modern Visionary Leadership styles and how transparent leadership and empowering teams impacted team effectiveness, enhanced performance and team morale.
Lizzi is a passionate leader with extensive experience in building collaborative work environments and optimising operations, ensuring impactful outcomes. She is dedicated to embracing, enabling, and developing individuals to flourish within their unique strengths. Her leadership is grounded in empowering others to reach their full potential while driving meaningful results.
