Jody Cheong is a Scientist in the Air Quality and Aerosol Metrology Group (AQAM) at NPL.
Jody joined NPL in 2022, having completed her BSc in Chemistry (Testing and Accreditation Stream) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and MSc in Chemical Science at the University of St. Andrew during which she was awarded the Dean’s list. Before pursing her master’s degree, she has several years of laboratory experience in academia and commercial industries, measuring heavy metals in water and analysing organic components in food using spectroscopic technique.
Jody is currently involved in both management and technical sides for the UK Heavy Metals Network, and conducts research using ICP-MS/MS. Her recent research interests include understanding air quality to electric vehicles by providing standardised method and uncertainty budget for brake wear and measurement of priority pollutant isotope ratios for the determination of next generation source attribution tools. Jody also leads ozone calibrations, which is essential for quality assurance and quality control of air quality monitoring sites across the UK.
Jody is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). She is also a registered scientist with the RSC.
