For people, place, prosperity and planet, we deliver impact with measurement science

Connie Pallister

Connie Pallister

Higher scientist

Connie joined NPL in 2016 following the completion of her Physics BSc at Southampton University. Connie’s initial work at NPL focused on the delivery of AC conductivity and magnetic sensor calibrations as part of the magnetics UKAS accredited measurement service to ISO 17025. She quickly became heavily involved in the maintenance of the UKAS accreditation and continues to focus on quality.

Connie is actively engaged with UK industry in her work in measurement service as well as helping industry through the Measurement for Recovery (M4R) and Analysis for Innovators (A4I) programmes.

In 2021, Connie was promoted to Higher Research Scientist and her primary focus has been the redesign and building of a new AC conductivity bridge for measurement service, as well as expanding the calibration of sensors in the low field facility outside of standard conditions to be more representative of environmental conditions.

Areas of interest

  • AC & DC magnetic fields and instrumentation (DC to 120 kHz)
    • Expansion of frequency range up to 400 kHz
  • Low field measurements
    • Calibration of sensors at operational temperatures (- 50 °C to + 125 °C)
  • AC and DC conductivity
    • Redesigning bespoke AC bridge for calibration services
