Chris Cox joined NPL in March 2021 as a Higher Research Scientist in the Quantum Materials and Sensors group. Chris graduated with a BSc in Physics and Sports Science in 2014 followed by a PhD in Experimental Physics from Loughborough University in 2018. Chris has a wealth of experience with thin film deposition as well as in thermal, electrical and magnetic measurements with a strong background of experiments at large scale national facilities at ISIS (Didcot) and, the ESRF and ILL (Grenoble).
Areas of Interest
Chris currently works within the Low Loss Electronics group, primarily focussed on scanning thermal microscopy (SThM) in conjunction with electrical and magnetic measurements of bulk, thin film and 2D materials for next generation electronic devices.
