Andrew Chang (He/Him/His) is chair of the Audit and Risk Committee as well as a non-executive Director on the NPL Board.
He brings to the role an enthusiasm for STEM and a broad spectrum of experience in governance and risk management in the engineering, healthcare and educational sectors. Previous audit assignments have also been conducted by Andrew overseas, primarily in the USA and two further assignments in Pakistan and the Republic of Ireland.
Andrew has held a number of internal audit and consultancy roles with Stantec UK Ltd, MWH UK Ltd, Kelda Group and Yorkshire Water plc, National Power and the Central Electricity Generating Board.
He serves as non-executive Director and Audit & Risk Committee Chair at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust; is a Governor and Finance Committee Chair at Luminate Education Group; a Governor of York St John University; a Trustee of the Wilf Ward Family Trust (a social care provider); is a STEM Ambassador for the Yorkshire and Humber Hub; and a member of the Seacole Group, a network for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Non-Executive Directors in the NHS.
Previously Andrew has also served non-executive roles with Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust; the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management; has been a Governor and Audit Committee Chair of Bradford College; Chair of Training for Bradford Limited; Trustee of Bradford Grammar School; Treasurer of Yorkshire WaterAid; Governor of Hookstone Chase Community Primary School; Governor and interim Chair of Leeds City College; and Chair of the Yorkshire Region of the British Fencing Association.
Andrew is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA, GCMA) and formerly a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (previously CMIIA, QIAL, CIA). He is also a member of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (MCIWEM).
