Innovation for Machinery (I4M) gives businesses in West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester access to advanced machinery expertise from NPL and universities in West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester. Support through the scheme can help to accelerate the development of the next generation of machinery and create new jobs and growth in this sector.
Since its launch in 2022 the scheme has funded 28 projects working with various companies across the region. Holtex is one company supported through the scheme. Aaron Holt, CEO of Holtex, said: “This project allowed rapid deployment of academic support without many hurdles. The six-figure revenue has been realised – with more to come – and it’s helped bolster follow-on commitment. Good value for money.”
The scheme is set up to support SMEs working on projects that focus on delivering advancements in machinery for manufacturing, show clear market opportunity, and demonstrate innovation at an industrially relevant scale.
