Measurement for Business (M4B) expands to support green technologies

2 minute read

Measurement for Business (M4B) allows innovative UK SMEs access to up to 20 days specialist measurement science and engineering expertise at no charge.

It is now open to companies developing green technologies including renewable energy, alternative fuels, carbon capture, long-term energy storage, future grid, air quality measurements, emissions monitoring and carbon accounting.

By expanding the programme and supporting companies leading Greentech innovation, we aim to ensure the UK remains at the forefront of the technology’s development.

M4B has been running since 2023 supporting companies developing semiconductor technologies and SMEs within the Greater Manchester and Yorkshire region. 71% of companies said their commercial opportunity has greatly or moderately increased as a result of their M4B project and 53% of participants expect to see increased sales in new or existing markets as a result of their project.

The programme is open to SMEs developing products or services that are currently pre-market. Funding is available for complex projects or challenges that require support outside what is available commercially at test laboratories or other providers.

If you are a business in a different sector and you are interested in applying for the programme in the future, you can register your interest here
