NPL’s M4B programme is now open to SMEs developing new sensors, instrumentation and measurement systems. The programme allows easy access to up to 20 days specialist measurement science and engineering expertise at no charge.
The extension to the programme will support SMEs developing new sensors, instrumentation and measurement systems who need help with characterisation, development and verification of new concepts.
The most common forms of support providing through the programme include:
Investigating the feasibility of new innovative concepts for products and services.
Access to R&D to support improved functionality of innovative products and get to the next stage in the product development pathway.
Validating products and process performance - helping innovative products get to market using credible trusted data and become more investable.
Demonstrating standards and specification are met and influence standards and industry norms to be inclusive of a company’s disruptive product.
Allow businesses embryonic ideas to fail quickly if flawed.
The programme is open to SMEs developing products or services that are currently pre-market. Funding is available for complex projects or challenges that require support not available commercially at test laboratories or other providers.
