Alliance for Data Science Professionals

NPL has partnered with Learned Societies through the establishment of the Alliance for Data Science Professionals to recognise Data Science as a certified profession.  

Data Scientists hold the key to help develop new applications of integrated technology, from mapping disease and monitoring climate change through to advanced food production, automated manufacturing, health diagnosis and communications. Data Scientists will help solve some of the world's biggest challenges and can deliver secure and safe systems infrastructures as we evolve into using, for example, AI (Artificial Intelligence), ML (Machine Learning) and AR (Augmented Reality) so we can feel confident in their use.

The Alliance for Data Science Professionals (AfDSP) comprises of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, the Royal Statistical Society, the Operational Research Society, the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, the Alan Turing Institute, and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and is backed by the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society.
