NPL works on productivity and competitiveness for all industries and technologies, ensuring enterprises remain internationally competitive in a challenging marketplace through the provision of world class measurement expertise. Our work covers three key areas:

• development of traceable measurement infrastructure to enable validation and verification processes for advanced machinery and full part characterisation

• tactical and strategic focus on a whole systems approach, targeted at assurance, sustainability and collaboration through partnerships with Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs)

• enabling industry to access world class measurement expertise through schemes such as Analysis for Innovators (A4I) and Measurement for Recovery (M4R) to support innovation and collaboration

We collaborate with other organisations on projects which bring our measurements skills to the forefront. We support companies from SMEs to original equipment manufacturers. We support the government objectives to increase productivity, support levelling up and encourage innovation. We have world class expertise in data science, dimensional measurements, material selection, sensors and instrumentation.
