The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Radiochemistry Group are pleased to announce an upcoming meeting on Radionuclide production in the UK. The meeting builds on a similar successful event held in 2023 and will explore the current and potential future status of radionuclide production for nuclear medicine and other applications.
There is an increasing awareness of the need to develop facilities and expertise to ensure the domestic supply of a range of radionuclides for medical and other applications. This meeting will provide an opportunity for stakeholders and researchers to meet and collaboratively discuss the current status of radionuclide production, what is needed in the future and how this can be achieved.
This one day, in-person meeting will consist of oral and poster presentations, exhibitor stands and open discussion sessions on radionuclide production, including through the use of cyclotrons, research reactors and recovery from legacy nuclear waste, as well as developments in radiochemical purification. There will also be updates on current and potential future projects related to radionuclide production, including the Medical Radionuclide Innovation Programme.
