Quantum business workshops

Exploratory roundtable events addressing barriers to market

Supporting the UK quantum industry to foster growth, innovation, and international competitiveness.

This autumn, we are hosting two workshops targeted at professionals looking to overcome obstacles in the commercialisation of quantum technologies. These round table workshops, led by our experts, aim to identify and address challenges, remove barriers to market and unlock your business’ potential.

You can attend one or both workshops. The format for both is an exploratory round table with peers and industry experts to help steer discussions around current roadblocks you may be facing and how to deal with them. There will be a short presentation from industry insiders to help set the scene. Lunch is included with attendance at either workshop.

Places are limited so please book promptly to avoid disappointment.

This Coordination Summit is a strategic industry gathering designed to address these challenges head-on.

Who should attend:

  • Quantum organisations looking to optimise resource access and accelerate growth
  • Organisations requiring support in navigating the UK's quantum support network/ infrastructure
  • Owners of fabrication and test facilities looking to reach into quantum organisations

  • Quantum companies seeking to forge strategic collaborations and reduce time-to-market
  • Any organisation needing specialist help in intellectual property (IP) or obtaining favourable terms with third parties

Join NPL for a free event and help us to forge a coordinated approach that will drive innovation, streamline access to resources throughout the UK, and help retain our nation’s place as a leader in quantum technology.

Since November 2023, the Quantum Standards Network-Pilot, led by NPL and supported by DSIT, the British Standards Institution, UKQuantum, the National Quantum Computing Centre and the National Cyber Security Centre, has been working collectively to inform and engage industry members.

The Network was established to co-ordinate between stakeholders, to keep participants informed with regard standard developments, and identify business issues to be addressed.

This workshop will examine the issues industry faces in order to identify standards-based solutions to help your business.

  • Are there components difficult to find consistently with the properties you need?
  • Is the equipment and services you need straightforward to specify?
  • Do your customers understand your product’s performance?

Standards could help.

Who should attend:

UK based senior decision makers and technical experts in product development in areas including:

  • Quantum technology (computing, sensing, communications, etc)
  • Supply-chain (photonics, semiconductors, cryogenics, advanced materials, etc).

NPL has the expertise to support you with your product development and assessment. Furthermore, we understand and lead the translation of those needs into test and characterisation methods, alongside other national metrology institutes, and guide the development of methods into standards.

Network partners will provide support and expertise to the workshop.
