Sean has 20 years of experience in Radionuclide Metrology, joining NPL in 1998. He is mainly focused on gamma-ray spectrometry, with a focus on nuclear decay data measurements for radionuclides intended for radiopharmaceutical use with multiple publications in this area. He is responsible for the Nuclear Metrology Groups high-resolution gamma-ray spectrometry facilities. Sean has developed a 3D printing facility at NPL for the development of rapid manufacturing methods of phantoms to support Medical Imaging applications and has been developing 3D printable materials to replicate the gamma-ray scattering properties of tissue. Sean is currently working towards his PhD, in collaboration with the University of Surrey, developing primary standards and determining decay data of novel theragnostic radionuclides that are being produced at CERN.
