War heroes

Many of our employees saw active service during the First World War

Forty NPL employees were sent to war in late 1914 and many others joined them over the course of the war. Those who left were told that their posts would remain open for them on their return as serving King and Country would count as a service to NPL. Some did manage to return to their posts, but many were not so fortunate.
